John Wells turned 2 on Labor Day. I can't believe how big he is getting. This is such a fun age. There is nothing better than hearing a spontaneous "Mommy, Daddy, I love you sooooo much." Or, to hear John Wells respond when Charles gives him a toy or when we help him do something, "Thank you very much!" Another great thing, is his desire to start conversations. He crosses his arms over his chest, cocks his head to the side and says, "So, how was your day?" (This one is borrowed from his big brother, but he has added his own touches with the expressive mannerisms.)

The boys are both getting into football season, watching Rudy and game day on Saturdays. Charles is quite the Notre Dame fan and can spot them on TV. As soon as he sees them on the field, he takes on his Rudy personae and starts strapping on his gear. The LSU Tiger's CD is an around town favorite. John Wells likes the fight song best; Charles sings the alma mater. We can't wait until the leaves begin to change. Warren and I went to a deck party last night, and one of my classmates was saying our street is the best street to drive down to see the leaves changing.
